As part of Novicom NETWORK CONSULTING services, we also offer Novicom NADS – Network Assessment and Documentation Services.
The aim of this service is to map the state of the network infrastructure in a non-invasive way, provide basic documentation of the network infrastructure, basic network services and provide a top-level proposal for improving the identified state.
IP Fabric
IP Fabricis an analytical tool for complex computer networks, providing critical information needed for network management, security, and architecture. It is a hardware-independent platform that automatically discovers, documents and controls network parameters and automatically creates large-scale network topologies.
Novicom ADDNET
Novicom ADDNET is an integrated DDI/NAC tool for large computer networks, which, thanks to advanced L2 monitoring, is also used for analytical and consulting work in the area of documentation and optimization of network traffic architecture.

The Novicom NADS service is designed for 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the size of the organization, and includes the following basic activities:
1) Introductory workshop
- Definition of competency teams
- Introduction of the necessary collaboration
- Fixing the scope and focus of the service
2) Installation and configuration of appropriate analytical tools
3) Network scanning
4) Evaluation of the obtained data
5) Preparation of a report covering the following areas
- Network devices list
- Low level design
- Top network anomalies
- Top performance issues
- Top security issues
- NAC readiness / top issues
- Segmentation (VLAN)
- Advanced network policies (DACL)
- Core net services (DHCP/DNS)
- IPAM
- Monitoring (IP, L2, DHCP, netflow/ipfix, syslog)
6) Management Presentation (Workshop)
- Presentation of the final report, main findings and recommendations
7) Subsequent two-week operation of the analytical tools
- Including operation support
8) Final workshop
- Ad-hoc evaluation of the subsequent 14-day operation
- Expert recommendations based on additional findings
- Termination of the operation of the analytical tools
Novicom NADS - service edition overview:
Necessary cooperation from the customer
For the successful and effective implementation of the service, it is necessary to ensure cooperation that will allow the use of analytical tools of network consultants, assuming non-invasive activities (read only access to switches). These tools are located in a secure cloud environment or are installed in the form of a virtual appliance in the customer's environment. It is necessary to ensure secure access to these environments and at the same time network visibility between analytical tools and switches. To provide 3 workshops, it is necessary to provide facilities for physical meetings on the customer's side. Other activities are performed remotely.
If the customer's network technologies are not commonly used on the market or do not support connection via a terminal interface, not all detailed information necessary for creating the service output may be available, as is the case with common network technologies. In such a case, at least available information will be used and automated maps will be manually adjusted for use by the customer.
