Novicom at the Active Network Security 2017 seminars in Vietnam
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi and the Network Security Monitoring Cluster (NSMC), an association of leading Czech companies (manufacturers and specialists in the field of cybersecurity and computer network security), organized another pair of professional seminars called Active Network Security 2017 in Vietnam. Novicom and other Czech companies had the opportunity to present their products and solutions in the field of cybersecurity in Vietnam.

Just like in 2016, Novicom participated in these seminars as one of the Czech technology partners of the event. Novicom's Sales Director, Mr. Jindřich Šavel, presented the company's key product at the seminars, which is ADDNET - a unique integrated DDI/NAC tool for significantly increasing the efficiency of IP address space management and access security management in large networks.
On April 20, 2017, a seminar was held in Hanoi at the Pan Pacific Hotel, and the second seminar was held on April 25, 2017 in Saigon, at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers.
The content of the seminars was the latest developments in the field of ensuring cybersecurity.
Participants learned about the Czech concept of Active Network Security - how it is developing, what makes it unique, and what it brings in addition to common procedures that mostly address the area of cybersecurity only in a particular way - i.e. with partial, unrelated products from individual suppliers.
In addition to the concept of Active Network Security, the seminars also presented key elements of this concept in the part of ensuring the internal network, i.e. tools for ensuring comprehensive IP address management with integrated network access control - DDI/NAC (AddNet), network flows and behavioral analysis of the network - NBA (FlowMon ADS) and an additional solution for managing cyber incidents (SIEM and SOC). All this was supplemented by interesting solutions for securing clients – (Sodat Protection and Encryption), for secure communication between organizations (Babelnet) and crisis management (EMOFF).
The seminar partners were the Czech companies Novicom, s.r.o, Flowmon Networks a.s., AXENTA a.s., T-SOFT a.s., OKsystem a.s., SODATSW spol. s r.o. and PAMA spol. s r.o.
The seminars attracted extraordinary attention among the professional public and representatives of the Vietnamese state administration, as evidenced by the participation in the seminars themselves. Out of the originally estimated 50 participants, more than 100 representatives of important state authorities and state-owned companies attended the seminar in Hanoi, and in Saigon, out of the originally planned 45 participants, 68 guests arrived.
Both seminars were opened by the economic diplomat of the embassy in Hanoi, Mr. David Jarkulisch, who in his opening speech highlighted the high level of the Czech ICT industry, from which companies of world importance are recruited.
In addition to the above-mentioned series of seminars in Vietnam in 2016 and 2017, a professional seminar of Vietnamese and Czech companies on cooperation in the field of IT and telecommunications was also held in Prague in early December 2016, on the occasion of the working visit of the Minister of Informatics Truong Minh Tuan to the Czech Republic.
The long-term interest of Czech companies from the NSMC cluster in the Vietnamese market has now brought the first results in the form of the signing of two important documents. In mid-April 2017, Novicom signed a memorandum of cooperation in supplying its products to Vietnamese end users with the major Vietnamese state-owned telecommunications company VNPT in Prague, and NSMC signed an agreement with Viet Thanh Technology Corporation (VITA) to establish a demonstration version of a security operations center on the premises of this cable television provider in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
