Another professional conference that Novicom participated in as a partner and speaker was the conference entitled CYBERSECURITY IN UTILITIES, which was organized by B.I.D. services on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Hotel Olympik in Prague, Czech Republic.

In recent years, the protection and security of modern computer and information systems has been threatened not only by long-known virus infections, but also by targeted hacker attacks and hybrid threats.

  • According to a survey by PwC, at least 80% of European companies have been the target of at least one cyberattack in the past year.
  • According to the Czech National Office for Cyber and Information Security, about 100 cyberattacks took place in the Czech Republic per month in the past year.
  • In 2017, a cyberattack threatened most of London's hospitals and partially paralyzed their operations.
  • The protection of ICT systems has become a priority issue for institutions and companies in the network industries and, undoubtedly, in the entire critical infrastructure.

These topics attracted almost 100 listeners to the conference, especially from the network industry, because the network industries and utilities are particularly vulnerable targets, and increased attention should be paid to these threats.

Novicom participated to the conference program with a presentation on "Management, monitoring and security of hybrid IT and OT networks".
